Sulpan Cave is located upstream of Pinipisakan Falls and can be reached by continuing further into the river system. The cave has an underground river and impressive rock formations.

Sulpan Cave is a remarkable underground passageway stretching approximately 2 km, with several kilometers of branching side galleries and chambers. It connects to the cascading Pinipisakan Falls, offering one of the most mesmerizing cave entrances in the Philippines.

Inside, the cave houses vast galleries, towering stalactites and stalagmites, and hidden underground lakes. Several sections require swimming through cold, fast-moving water, while others involve scrambling across rocks or squeezing through narrower tunnels.

While exploring, visitors may encounter cave-adapted wildlife including bats, cave crickets, spiders, snakes, and possibly fish and crustaceans—highlighting the cave’s rich subterranean ecosystem.

Reaching Sulpan Cave is an adventure in itself: after traveling from Catbalogan to San Jorge via van or bus, travelers take a habal-habal ride to Blanca Aurora, a 2-hour upstream boat, and a 2-hour jungle trek to arrive at the cave entrance.

Many choose to experience the cave in conjunction with Pinipisakan Falls, especially through organized tours like the 2-day “Falls & Cave” package. These typically include transportation, permits, gear, camping, and guided caving activities.
